Sequence pattern must be specified in the PROSITE pattern format:

• use A, C, G, T or x
• each pattern-element must be separated with - (minus sign)
• x represents any nucleotide
• [AC] means either A or C
• {GT} means any amino acids except for G and T
• A(2,3) means that A appears 2 to 3 times consecutively

    For example:  C-x-{G}-[AT]-x(2)-C-x(3)
